Discussion: Implementing Innovative Technology

 

Purpose

Evaluate the impact of organizational culture on innovation and technology and why employees resist change and how they can overcome resistance. Apply change management strategies to implement innovations or technologies. 

 

Review

Your Task

As a leader in an organization, you may have to implement innovation or innovative technology to improve organizational performance. The challenge you face is that employees may be resistant to change. Discuss how you would implement an innovative technology that employees are resisting. The technology improves performance but will result in training employees or a reduction in staff. Consider how you can engage employees to implement the technology and engage employees to develop an implementation strategy.

 

Initial Discussion Post 

Discuss how your leadership style and experiences would assist you in tackling this challenge. How will you lead your team, who is resistant to the changes in the implementation of new technologies or innovative processes (which will improve performance but may have an impact on staffing or morale)? How will you engage the team to collaborate and develop an implementation strategy?

Your initial post should be at least 250 words. Your initial response is due by Thursday at 11:59 PM ET.

Response to Classmates

Respond to at least two of your colleagues’ posts. Your response should provide your thoughts on your classmates’ discussion concerning the implementation strategy and how to engage employees in developing the strategy. Responses should be respectful, contain at least 100 words, including references, and ask questions to promote further conversation on the topic.
